In 2025, several open-air concerts already took place in the Maierhof of Benediktbeuern Monastery — the historic courtyard established itself in Summer 2025 as an extraordinary stage for pop and rock concerts between the pre-Alps and Baroque architecture. The Eisbrecher Open Air 2026 continues this series by WoWeBa Live GmbH.

The Maierhof of Benediktbeuern Monastery was the venue for several open-air concerts in the summer of 2025. The organizer WoWeBa Live GmbH brought various artists to the Baroque courtyard — an unusual venue with excellent acoustics and a unique blend of sacred backdrop and modern stage technology.

The positive reception of the 2025 concert format led to its continuation in 2026 with the double weekend Eisbrecher (July 18) and Nena (July 19) — both at the same extraordinary location.
