Overview

The 48th Dresdner Musikfestspiele 2025 was themed «Time», dedicating itself to time as a musical dimension. Over almost four weeks, around 60 events brought international artists and ensembles to the Saxon state capital – with programs ranging from historical performance practice to contemporary music, complemented by jazz and crossover.

Theme «Time»

The theme of time ran through all programs of the 48th edition – from Wagner's works on historical instruments to contemporary compositions. The Dresdner Musikfestspiele 2025 once again offered a spectrum that extended far beyond the classical concert stage.

Artists and Highlights

International soloists and top orchestras shaped the program in Dresden's most prominent venues – from the Semperoper to the Frauenkirche. Festival director Jan Vogler once again focused on a mix of established names and festival debuts, positioning the festival as a platform for artistic exchange between genres.
