Overview

The 2025 Dresden Dragon Boat Festival saw over 1,000 active paddlers and tens of thousands of spectators. The 400-meter race course in front of the Loschwitz boathouse was crowded with boats and people on both days. One of Saxony's largest dragon boat events once again asserted its position.

The 2025 edition featured a strong competitive field with teams from all over Saxony, Germany, and partly from neighboring Czech Republic and Poland. Hobby teams, company crews, and sports clubs competed in several classes, while the family program at the festival grounds made the event a typical grassroots sports festival on the water.

WSV «Am Blauen Wunder» confirmed the format in 2025 and announced the next edition for June 19–20, 2026. The Dragon Boat Festival remains a fixed date in Dresden's summer calendar.
