Dorffest Krimpenfort

Festival since 1980

Since its premiere in 1980, the Dorffest Krimpenfort has developed into a firm tradition in the Krimpenfort district of Lohne. Over four decades of community life — supported by the Krimpenfort village community — have made the festival a distinctive date in the annual event calendar.

Date two weeks after the Lohner Schützenfest

An important special feature is its fixed timing: the village festival always takes place two weeks after the Lohner Schützenfest. With a Schützenfest from July 11th to 13th, 2026, the Dorffest will accordingly follow on July 25th, 2026. This firm connection to the main Lohne festival has grown and is respected — both events complement each other rather than competing.

Tractor Meeting

A special highlight is the tractor meeting. Farmers and tractor enthusiasts from the region bring their vehicles to Krimpenfort — from historic Eicher and Lanz tractors from the 1950s to modern large tractors. The vehicle show becomes a venue for encounters among farmers and for a fascination that captivates all generations. Children are thrilled by the large machines, while adults exchange technical knowledge and memories.

Barbecue and Catering

Catering is traditionally done at the barbecue. Bratwurst, steaks, pork belly, pork neck — the hearty offerings fit the rural atmosphere of the festival. Served with draft beer, wine, and soft drinks. Those who come eat well and drink relaxed.

Live Music

Musical accompaniment is provided by a live band or a DJ — usually with a mix of traditional dance music, Schlager, party hits, and current classics. The dance floor fills up in the evening, with generations dancing together.

Krimpenfort as a District of Lohne

Krimpenfort is a district of the town of Lohne with its own identity. Predominantly rural, with established structures and a close-knit village community. The annual village festival is an expression of this identity — an event that strengthens the district's sense of belonging while also attracting guests from the surrounding Lohne districts and the entire collective municipality.
