DixieCity Oldtime & New Orleans Jazz Festival Gerolstein from August 16th to 18th, 2026 at Brunnenplatz – 3 days, approx. 20 hours of traditional jazz, free admission.
The DixieCity Gerolstein Jazz Festival is one of the most important festivals for traditional jazz in the region between the Eifel, Moselle, and Ardennes. For three days, Brunnenplatz in the center of Gerolstein transforms into an open-air stage where national and international bands celebrate the sound of early jazz days.
The program spans around 20 hours of high-quality live jazz over three days. Stylistically, the festival focuses on:
Brunnenplatz in the center of Gerolstein is the ideal open-air stage for a festival of this size: central location, good accessibility, urban atmosphere. The surrounding shops and restaurants benefit from the festival buzz, and visitors have a rich gastronomic environment.
The festival kicks off on Friday at 5:00 PM with the Afterwork Party. This makes the weekend opening attractive for working people: straight to the festival after work. This programming has established itself over the years as a popular entry point.
Accompanying the music, street food stalls offer culinary catering. International street food complements the musical program – ideal for a festival that also aims to be a meeting point for enjoyment.
Admission to the entire festival is free. This makes DixieCity accessible to a broad audience – jazz connoisseurs as well as families, tourists, and Eifel visitors who happen to pass by.
With DixieCity and the "Gerolstein swingt" series, Gerolstein is establishing itself as a serious jazz destination in the West German festival landscape. The Eifel town thus shows that cultural ambition and small/medium-town charm do not exclude each other but can inspire each other.
The 2026 edition continues the traditional open-air festival format at Brunnenplatz. With three festival days and free admission, DixieCity remains an accessible, high-quality jazz festival for a broad audience.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
