Weekly open-air concerts at Deichtorplatz in summer
Dagebüll is a municipality on the Wadden Sea in the district of Nordfriesland in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, directly opposite the Halligen islands of Hooge, Langeneß, and Gröde. The harbour with its NEG ferries is the most important gateway to the islands and Halligen — and with Deichtorplatz, Dagebüll has an ideal open-air location: elevated above the harbour, with a view of the Wadden Sea.
“Dienstag am Deich” runs every Tuesday during the summer months (usually June to September). The selection alternates between tribute bands (Westernhagen, Pink Floyd, Beatles), cover bands (60s–80s, Flower Power), and individual newcomer acts. Concerts usually start at 7:00 PM and end around 10:15 PM — perfectly timed for the summer sunset over the mudflats.
The NEG (Norddeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft Niebüll) offers special fares on concert days for the Marschbahn railway from Niebüll to Dagebüll-Mole — so you can travel relaxed without a car. Those coming from Husum, Niebüll, or Bredstedt can easily make it a day trip.
Even though Dagebüll itself has only a few hundred inhabitants, hundreds come to “Dienstag am Deich” from the Wiedingharde, the Halligen islands, Niebüll, and also from the region around Husum. A true regional concert series that has become a firm summer ritual.
The weekly concert series runs throughout the summer. Confirmed concerts for 2026 include a Westernhagen tribute evening at the end of June and a Flower Power evening in mid-August. Further performances (tribute and cover bands) will follow weekly — Dagebüll Tourismus GmbH publishes the current programme at the beginning of each week.
The series runs every Tuesday throughout the summer months (typically June to September). Specific bands for the remaining dates will be announced by the organiser at the beginning of each concert week.
Free admission. Refreshments available at the Dagebüll Tourismus GmbH stand (drinks, sausages).
By train to Niebüll, then continue with the NEG Marschbahn to Dagebüll-Mole. By car via the B5/B199 to Dagebüll. Parking at the harbour is limited — arrive early.
