In 2025, the Volksparkstadion was once again the venue for major open-air concerts during Hamburg's concert summer. The concert series established the stadium as a regular destination for stadium pop and international tours — in preparation for the major 80s pop concert on July 18, 2026.
The 2025 concert summer at the Volksparkstadion included several major concerts with international acts. The stadium confirmed its place in the North German concert calendar as a top venue for stadium tours — from pop and rock to classical highlights. HSV, in collaboration with Sportfive, organized the event series.
The concept of a thematic 80s evening — as realized in 2026 with "Die 80er Live" — was not yet implemented in this constellation in 2025. However, the concept of a major retro pop show was prepared through other thematic stadium evenings.
