Hotel Meadow by the Water Tower

Delmenhorst's historic water tower is one of the city's most distinctive landmarks. The meadow opposite used to be the site of a hotel – today it serves as an urban recreational area and offers the ideal backdrop for a summer open-air event. With seating, beer benches, and shady spots, the Sommerwiese creates a relaxed retreat right in the heart of the city.

Beer Garden and Open-Air Gastronomy

The focus is on the beer garden with North German beers, soft drinks, lemonades, and a compact menu of hearty and summery classics. Anyone planning a relaxed evening after work, a get-together with friends, or a family day will find the right atmosphere here.

Amusement Rides and Family Zone

Selected amusement rides are available on the meadow. Children will find carousels, smaller play areas, and a relaxed atmosphere. The Sommerwiese thus complements the beer garden with a classic, small Volksfest (public festival) element.

Live Music and Revival Parties

Bands play live on selected weekends, in addition to the popular revival parties "Heaven" and "La Palma," which musically recall the legendary Delmenhorst discos of past decades. Dance evenings with hits from the 80s and 90s create a lively atmosphere.

Football Broadcasts

During major football tournaments and selected Bundesliga match days, the games will be broadcast on a big screen. Public viewing in a relaxed beer garden atmosphere is an additional draw.

Father's Day on May 14, 2026

The Sommerwiese opens its doors on Father's Day starting at 11 AM, inviting guests for an extended day in the beer garden. A morning pint, live music, and sunny weather (if fortune smiles) will mark the start of the season.
