David Garrett, born in Aachen in 1980, has created a unique musical space as a crossover violinist, consistently dissolving the boundaries between classical music, rock, and pop. After classical training with renowned masters such as Itzhak Perlman, he launched his crossover career in the mid-2000s with albums that blend global rock, pop, and film music hits with his virtuosic violin technique. With sold-out world tours, millions of records sold, and numerous TV appearances, he is one of Europe's most profitable classically trained artists.

The „Millennium Symphony“ open-air programme is conceived as a large-scale tour production: David Garrett performs with a symphony orchestra and his rock band, with the stage design including an elaborate light show, pyro effects, and video projections. The repertoire focuses on crossover arrangements of well-known works: Vivaldi in a rock format, Beethoven's symphonies as pop hooks, Coldplay, U2, Metallica in symphonic adaptations, along with film soundtracks (e.g., „Pirates of the Caribbean“) and his own compositions.

On the Loreley Open Air Theatre, with its UNESCO World Heritage backdrop and a capacity of around 17,000 seats, such orchestral open-air shows unfold their maximum impact.
