Three Villages, One Festival

Das Fest in Wendeburg, Wendezelle, and Zweidorf is a remarkable model for the future of village festival culture. Instead of each of the three villages organizing its own Schützenfest, the traditional associations have decided to pool their resources and host a joint festival. This merger secures the festival tradition for decades to come and simultaneously creates a larger, more attractive event than each village could have organized on its own.

Opening Evening with Gourmet Evening and Disco

The kickoff on Friday, August 7, 2026, combines two program elements. The "Genussabend" with culinary specialties and a relaxed atmosphere begins at 5:00 PM. Starting at 9:00 PM, the disco in the festival tent kicks off, opening the festival with musical energy.

Festival Parade and Children's Afternoon on Saturday

Saturday, August 8, 2026, is the day of the festival parade and the children's afternoon. At 11:00 AM, the festival parade, accompanied by the Thune music band, will begin and proceed through the three villages. At 3:00 PM, the children's afternoon starts with games, small competitions, and supervised activities.

89.0 RTL Clubnight with Star DJ

The social highlight of the weekend is the 89.0 RTL Clubnight on Saturday evening at 9:00 PM. The well-known radio station 89.0 RTL presents a club night with a DJ who will set the dance floor in the festival tent ablaze. This cooperation with the regionally known station gives the festival a special appeal and attracts a young audience from the entire greater Braunschweig-Peine area.

Breakfast with the Bayern Stürmers

Sunday, August 9, 2026, begins at 11:00 AM with breakfast with the Bayern Stürmers. This band from the Bavarian region provides a lively "Frühschoppen" (morning pint) atmosphere with folk music and Schlager, which concludes the festival weekend in a festive mood. The shooting competition to determine the new monarchs will take place on July 18, 2026, prior to the festival.
