Wine on the North Sea

Cuxhaven is not a wine-growing region — but for 15 years, the Cuxhaven Wine Festival has been bringing wine to the sea. The organizer is Nordseeheilbad Cuxhaven, and the venue is the Kurpark Cuxhaven in Döse, whose spacious grounds with large chestnut trees provide a shady, Mediterranean setting for the four-day wine festival.

15th Edition from August 13th to 16th, 2026

The 2026 edition is the 15th and takes place from Thursday, August 13th to Sunday, August 16th, 2026. Opening hours:

• Thu–Sat: 1:00 PM–12:00 AM
• Sun: 1:00 PM–7:00 PM

10–15 Vintners from German Wine Regions

The focus is on 10 to 15 vintners who sell their wines directly to guests — for tasting at the stand and for taking home. The selection includes classic German growing regions: Rieslings from the Mosel, Franconian wines, Baden white and Pinot Noir, Palatinate specialties.

Culinary Delights to Pair with Wine

The culinary accompaniment is tailored to the wine:

• Cheese from regional and French dairies
• Ham — Italian and Spanish specialties
• Olives and Mediterranean antipasti
• Smoked salmon from North German tradition
• Wine steaks from the grill

Live Music and Candlelit Evening

In the evenings, live music on the outdoor stage creates a relaxed atmosphere — the entire park becomes a summer terrace. A special highlight is the candlelit evening with hundreds of candles, which immerses the spa gardens in an almost magical atmosphere.

Admission is free. For visitors with mobility impairments, there is accessible access and 5 disabled parking spaces.

Döse — Spa Resort by the Kugelbake

Cuxhaven-Döse, with its spa gardens, Kugelbake Hall, and beach, is the central spa resort of Cuxhaven. In August, the wine festival makes the spa gardens the culinary destination with a North Sea breeze.
