Country and Oldies to Close the Season
The Country and Oldies Open Air traditionally marks the end of the open-air season in the Duderstadt Culture Summer. The format combines a concert-oriented band event on Saturday evening with a family-oriented Sunday in a Country and Western atmosphere. The venue is the Duderstadt City Park on the edge of the historic old town.
Saturday with Sixpack Corner
On Saturday evening in the 2026 season, the band Sixpack Corner will perform. Their mix of Country, classic Rock, and Oldies hits includes classics from Johnny Cash to the Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival to Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band will play a two-part live set, complemented by interval music from the genre spectrum.
Country and Western Family Sunday
Sunday is dedicated to the Country and Western Family Day. The City Park will offer games and creative activities for all ages: horseshoe throwing, lasso throwing, Western costume stations, face painting, hat-making activities, and participatory dances to Country classics. Food trucks with BBQ and Western specialties will complete the offering.
Season Finale
With the Country and Oldies Open Air, the Duderstadt Culture Summer bids farewell to the season. The weekend is deliberately designed as a large, accessible family event, attracting a broad audience from the Eichsfeld region and the adjacent areas of Southern Lower Saxony, Northern Hesse, and Western Thuringia.

The 2026 edition features Sixpack Corner, an established regional cover band that has been active in the live music scene of Southern Lower Saxony for years. The Country and Western Family Sunday will be enhanced with additional participatory stations and an expanded BBQ food truck offering. Duderstadt City Park, Auf dem Graben. Arrive via B27/B247. Parking available at Westerturm and the guest information center. Bus line 173 from Göttingen station.
Tickets
Tickets for the Saturday concert are available from the Duderstadt guest information center and at the box office. The Country Family Sunday is largely free to access, with some participatory stations requiring a fee.
