The 21st International Comic Salon Erlangen took place from May 30th to June 2nd, 2024. Around 200 exhibitors and approximately 450 artists were guests. The Max und Moritz Prize for lifetime achievement was awarded to Joann Sfar.

The 21st edition of the International Comic Salon Erlangen transformed the city center into the capital of graphic literature from May 30th to June 2nd, 2024. Around 200 exhibitors – publishers, agencies, comic dealers, artist groups, and university classes – presented their programs, and about 450 artists were available for signing sessions, drawing sessions, artist talks, readings, and panel discussions.

At the Max und Moritz Gala in the Markgrafentheater, the prize was awarded in nine categories. The prize for outstanding lifetime achievement went to Joann Sfar, and the special jury prize was received by Barbara Yelin. "Fürchten lernen" by Nando von Arb was honored as the best German-language comic, and Anna Sommer was named the best German-language comic artist.
