A Sunday, a City in Festival Mode

The Cityfest Greven with Sunday Shopping is Greven's central autumn city event. On Sunday, September 20, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the entire city will become a festival area. The idea: a classic Sunday shopping event gets the full program of a city festival – flea market, stage performances, gastronomic islands, family activities.

Where the Festival Takes Place

The Cityfest enlivens the entire historic city center along:

• Alte Münsterstraße (area of Greven Marketing headquarters)
• Marktstraße – the main axis of Greven's city center
• Kirchstraße with a view of the parish church
• Martinistraße
• Niederort – south towards the Ems river

Shops are open all along the streets, stalls are set up, and action offers are arranged.

Flea Market and Children's Flea Market

One of the most popular elements: the Children's Flea Market from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Here, children can sell their own toys, books, and collectibles – with their own table, their own cash register, their own negotiation skills. Registration required (approx. 1 month before the date at Greven Marketing). In addition, there is a classic Adult Flea Market with private and commercial vendors.

Sunday Shopping 1 PM–6 PM

Parallel to the festival program, Greven's retailers open their doors: Sunday Shopping from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In combination with the festival, Greven becomes an attraction for visitors from Münster, Emsdetten, Saerbeck, and the northern Münsterland.

Organizers and City Connection

The Cityfest is organized by Greven Marketing e.V., Greven's city management and retail association. Address: Alte Münsterstraße 23, 48268 Greven – right in the middle of the festival grounds. Greven (around 38,000 inhabitants) is located in the Steinfurt district on the Ems river, between Münster and Rheine. The city benefits from its proximity to Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) and active city marketing that offers several Sunday shopping events throughout the year.
