Classics in the Four-Countries Corner

The Chursächsischer Sommer spans the period from May to October with over 300 events. The festival connects the Royal Spa Towns of Bad Elster and the neighboring Bad Brambach with around 40 other venues in the four-country region of Saxony, Bavaria, Bohemia, and Thuringia. The main component is classical concerts, supplemented by theater, readings, ballet, and crossover programs.

Chursächsische Philharmonie as Orchestra in Residence

The festival orchestra is the Chursächsische Philharmonie, which, as Orchestra in Residence, undertakes a cross-border "Summer Tour" through castles, churches, and concert halls in the region. The orchestra is one of the few permanent classical ensembles in this rural region and shapes the entire summer festival with its performances.

Bad Brambach – Festhalle and Spa Town

Bad Brambach houses one of the festival's most important venues with its Festhalle. The spa town, known for its radon springs and its location in the mineral water region, offers the perfect ambiance for classical concerts: a spa park, small hotels, and a soothing tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
