Overview

The Christmas Magic Old Town 2025 attracted around 35,000 guests over the 2nd Advent weekend to Brandenburg's city center. The four locations operated for the first time with a free velotaxi shuttle, which significantly strengthened the festival's decentralized character. The open courtyards were overflowing — a success for the "Altstadtleben" initiative.

2025 was the year the Christmas Magic Old Town clearly distinguished itself from classic Christmas markets as a city exploration format. Velotaxis shuttled all day between the four locations, a highly acclaimed jazz concert took place in the Johanniskirche, and a medieval-like overall scene with torches and mead stalls emerged in the Slawendorf on Saturday evening.

The open courtyards became a small sensation: over 25 private courtyards opened their doors, many showcasing arts and crafts by regional artists. The city of Brandenburg sees the format as a lever to revitalize the old town as a living space — the 2025 Christmas Magic was a successful testament to this.
