Overview

The 14th edition of Christgrindelmarkt ran from November 15 to December 22, 2025, on Allendeplatz. The heated cultural tent hosted the usual program of concerts, readings, and theatre, while stalls sold vegan currywurst, Tex-Mex from a food truck, traditional bratwurst, pastries, and mulled wine.

As in previous years, the format was confirmed: a cultural Christmas market in the university district, clearly distinguishing itself from the tourist markets in the city center. The cultural tent attracted students, academic staff, and families from the Grindelviertel, Rotherbaum, and Harvestehude areas.

In 2025, the market retained its character — quiet, accessible, with a clear programmatic profile. The combination of classic Advent market elements (mulled wine, almonds) with a cultural stage program and vegan offerings is one of the few successful translations of the classic Christmas market format into the student-alternative big city.
