Christmas Market in a Half-Timbered Setting
The Celle Old Town, with its approximately 480 preserved half-timbered houses, is one of Northern Germany's most beautiful old town ensembles. During Advent, this unique setting becomes the stage for one of the region's most atmospheric Christmas markets. The main areas are Großer Plan, Stechbahn, and the surrounding alleys of the historic old town.
The 14-Meter Christmas Pyramid
The market's landmark is a 14-meter high Christmas pyramid – one of the largest in Northern Germany. It stands centrally in the market square and is visible from many points in the old town. It is traditionally illuminated with warm light; its wings turn above the heads of visitors.
Historic Medieval Market
A separate area of the Christmas market is designed as a historic medieval market. Here, you'll find ancient crafts, mead, spiced hot drinks, and medieval-style stalls – a special feature of the Celle Christmas Market.
Children's Christmas Market
A separate Children's Christmas Market offers child-friendly rides, carousels, fairy tale hours, craft activities, and small hands-on stations – a unique experience within the larger event.
Crafts and Delicacies
Throughout the old town, visitors will find stalls with arts and crafts, Erzgebirge folk art, gingerbread, candied almonds, mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle, and regional specialties. Free admission.
