Overview

The CANALETTO Dresden City Festival 2025 attracted over 600,000 visitors from August 15th to 17th, making Dresden, according to the organizers, the «largest dance floor in Germany». Over 1,000 artists performed at 18 venues and 8 stages in the Altstadt and Neustadt — rounded off by the traditional fireworks display on Saturday.

CANALETTO 2025 — Dresden Dances

The 2025 edition once again set new standards: over 600,000 visitors experienced three days of city festival with rock, pop, classical music, jazz, dance, and culinary delights. The highlight, as always, was the fireworks display on Saturday evening over the Elbe — with the Frauenkirche, Residenzschloss, and Hofkirche in the background.

Over 1,000 artists from Saxony, all of Germany, and neighboring Czech Republic and Poland shaped the program. The city festival confirmed its reputation as one of the largest free open-air city festivals in Germany.
