The premiere of the California Wingfoil Masters Sylt took place in August 2025 at Brandenburger Strand — six days of international competition featuring Wave, Freestyle, and Slalom. The event immediately established itself as one of the most important wingfoil events in Europe and laid the foundation for its repeat in 2026.

The 2025 premiere attracted top international athletes from the still-young wingfoil scene. Choppy Water GmbH, as the organizer, proved that Sylt, with its consistent westerly winds, the waves at Brandenburger Strand, and its established watersports infrastructure, offers ideal conditions. The Open German Wave Championship was already held in parallel in 2025 — a format that will be repeated in 2026.
