About Burginselträume
The Burginselträume are a nocturnal summer festival on the historic Burginsel in Delmenhorst. Every summer, the KulturBüro der Stadt Delmenhorst and Theater ANU transform the island into a poetic world of experience with light, sound, installations, and open-air live performances.
Since their premiere, the Burginselträume have been among Delmenhorst's most atmospheric cultural events. On two summer evenings, after dusk, the Burginsel becomes a stage: light-filled trees, mysterious soundscapes, sculptures, and poetic productions by Theater ANU invite visitors to stroll through a dreamlike night landscape.
Each edition has its own theme. The festival is organized by the KulturBüro der Stadt Delmenhorst.
Burginselträume — edition 2026
The Burginselträume 2026 are held under the motto „Dem Himmel so nah“ (So Close to Heaven). As dusk falls over the Burginsel and the first stars appear, KulturBüro and Theater ANU transform the Burginsel Delmenhorst into a poetic open-air world of experience — on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18, 2026, starting at 10:00 PM each day.
„Dem Himmel so nah“ is a light trail of installations and live performances that quietly and impressively tells stories of life and death, love and loss, childhood and dreams. Trees bathed in light gain faces, mysterious worlds are reflected in the grass, and extraordinary light figures invite discovery.
Light, sound, sculptures, and poetic narratives combine to create a special experience under the sky of a summer night. Visitors can expect an atmospheric journey full of impressive images and moments.

- From 10:00 PM — Gates open and light trail begins (approx. 2 hours duration).
- Light installations and soundscapes among the trees of the Burginsel.
- Live performances and street theater by Theater ANU.
