On May 31, 2025, the Burg- und Stadtfest opened its gates — a long Saturday festival around Schkölen Castle with a stage programme, regional gastronomy, arts and crafts, and family activities. As in previous years, the festival focused on community spirit, bringing together Schkölen residents and guests from the wider region between the Saale and Elster rivers.
