Overview

The 11th edition of Brüggen Klassiker on August 29 and 30, 2025, gathered Medieval, Folk Metal, and Symphonic Metal fans in front of Brüggen Castle. Featuring Kupfergold (Medieval), Subway To Sally (Folk Metal) on Friday, and Penthouse Bewohner, Aeverium (Gothic Metal), and Tarja Turunen (Opera Metal) on Saturday, the festival offered a full lineup. Castle backlighting and Lower Rhine summer flair shaped the atmosphere.

The 11th edition of Brüggen Klassiker 2025 brought Folk Metal and Symphonic Metal fans together for two evenings in front of the Lower Rhine castle. Headliner on Saturday: Tarja Turunen (former Nightwish singer) with her Opera Metal program. Friday opened with GeNeth and Kupfergold, before Subway To Sally filled the castle backdrop with their Medieval Folk Metal. Saturday featured Penthouse Bewohner, Aeverium (Gothic Metal), and Tarja. The castle backlighting transformed the walls into a colorful festival backdrop — and confirmed the festival as a must-attend for Lower Rhine Metal and Folk fans.
