In July 2025, the Brennberg Castle Theatre once again attracted numerous theatre lovers to the East Bavarian Forest. The ensemble of Brennberg Castle proved its quality as a rural open-air stage, supported by the Kulturfonds Bayern.
The 2025 season of the Brennberg Castle Theatre confirmed the firm place of this summer theatre in the East Bavarian cultural calendar. The performances at Brennberg Castle were once again a draw for theatre enthusiasts from the Bavarian Forest, Regensburg, and the wider region.
The close connection between volunteer support, professional direction from Munich, and funding from the Kulturfonds Bayern makes the project a model for how high-quality summer open-air theatre can succeed even in rural areas. The 2026 season with Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' builds on this success story.
