The Brahms Festival Meiningen-Altenstein 2025 combined Meiningen's Brahms tradition with unusual concert formats in historic locations in Meiningen and Bad Liebenstein. Lieder recitals, chamber music, and performances in Altenstein Castle Park made the festival a highlight of the Thuringian classical spring.
2025 Retrospective
In 2025, the festival already presented its hallmark: concerts in authentic Brahms locations — Elisabethenburg Castle in Meiningen, Palais Weimar in Bad Liebenstein, and Altenstein Castle Park. Renowned soloists and ensembles from Thuringia and across Germany shaped the program. The concept of unusual concert formats in historic venues continued to establish the festival in the Central German classical landscape.
