Fire Station as Central Meeting Point

While the stalls are decentralized throughout the entire village, the fire station at Polterdamm 5 serves as the central meeting point and catering station. Here, visitors can refresh themselves with coffee, cake, sausages, and drinks, and obtain a map with participating addresses if needed. The catering provided by the volunteer fire department is an essential part of the festival and supports the voluntary work of the department.

PUBLU Bortfeld as Organizer

Behind the village flea market is PUBLU Bortfeld e.V., a local association dedicated to promoting village life. With Jonathan as the central contact person, the association organizes the registration process, the overview map, and coordination with participating households. This volunteer work is the foundation for the market's success.

Spring Highlight in the Village

The village flea market is deliberately held in spring, when many families sort out their winter clothes and make space for the new season. The April date takes advantage of the mild spring weather and offers the first major event of the year for the village community. Thousands of visitors from the greater Wendeburg, Braunschweig, and Peine areas make their way to Bortfeld.
