In 2025, the preparation and planning phase for Borna's 775th city anniversary in 2026 took place. Initial press conferences, program announcements, and individual kickoff events led up to the grand festival weekend from August 27th to 30th, 2026.

Preparation for the Anniversary Year

Throughout 2025, the program for Borna's grand 775th city anniversary in 2026 was prepared and published. Schools, clubs, the fire brigade, companies, and citizen initiatives were invited to submit program ideas and participate in the festival parade on August 30th, 2026.

The concept for the festival weekend — spread across Marktplatz, Volksplatz, Lutherplatz, and Dinterplatz — was also developed in 2025. The Volksplatz event arena, with a capacity for up to 5,500 spectators, is set as the central concert venue.
