Boogie-Woogie Under the Rottal Sun
The Boogie Festival Bad Birnbach is one of the rare pure Boogie-Woogie open-airs in Bavaria. For two days in June, the southern-looking New Market Square of the Lower Bavarian spa town transforms into an open dance floor, where local dance groups, live bands, and DJs create an atmosphere somewhere between a Rock'n'Roll festival and a village square ball.
The Boogie Spatzen Bad Birnbach
The festival is organized by the association Boogie Spatzen Bad Birnbach e.V., a long-established dance group that promotes Boogie-Woogie and Swing dancing. The first Boogie Festival emerged from the association's activities in 2024 and has quickly become a fixed date in the event calendar of the market town of Bad Birnbach.
Program: Live Bands, DJs, and Formations
Live performances and DJ sets alternate on stage. Regular performers include:
- Jimi Duke and the Posers – Boogie and Rock'n'Roll band
- Boogie Spatzen – Formation group of the organizing association
- Lollipops from Ortenburg – Show dance group
- DJ Lockerl Walter and DJ Mane (previous editions: also DJ Boogie Billy)
Market, Culinary Delights, and Bad Birnbach
Around the market square, exhibitors offer fashion, accessories, and souvenirs related to Boogie-Woogie. Food and drinks are served on-site throughout both days. Bad Birnbach in the Rottal-Inn district is part of the Bavarian Golf and Thermal Land; the spa town is known primarily for its Rottal Terme and complements the festival with a holistic wellness ambiance.
Boogie Festival — edition 2026
The 3rd Boogie Festival Bad Birnbach is officially announced for Friday, June 26th, and Saturday, June 27th, 2026. The venue remains the New Market Square, with its southern flair, in the center of the Lower Bavarian spa town.
Friday's opening will feature welcoming remarks from the organizers and the market community, followed by a mix of DJ sets and live performances by Boogie and Swing bands. Saturday will be dedicated to dance, music, and Boogie culture – DJ music will accompany the day, with live acts taking over in the evening. Exhibitors around the market square will offer fashion, accessories, and souvenirs related to Boogie-Woogie.
The Boogie Spatzen Bad Birnbach e.V. are once again responsible for organizing the event. In case of thunderstorms or continuous rain, the festival will be moved to the covered Artrium.

- Fri 26.06. – Opening, welcoming remarks, alternating live bands and DJ sets, dancing at the market square
- Sat 27.06. – All-day DJ music and market with Boogie exhibitors, live performance by the headliner band in the evening

Getting There
By car: A3 Passau–Regensburg, exit Pocking, then B388 to Bad Birnbach. By train: Bad Birnbach station (Mühldorf–Passau line), from there shuttle or walk to the spa town. Parking available around the center.

Free admission on both festival days.
Bad Weather Plan
In case of thunderstorms or continuous rain, the festival will be moved to the covered Artrium Bad Birnbach.
