Boogie-Woogie Under the Rottal Sun

The Boogie Festival Bad Birnbach is one of the rare pure Boogie-Woogie open-airs in Bavaria. For two days in June, the southern-looking New Market Square of the Lower Bavarian spa town transforms into an open dance floor, where local dance groups, live bands, and DJs create an atmosphere somewhere between a Rock'n'Roll festival and a village square ball.

The Boogie Spatzen Bad Birnbach

The festival is organized by the association Boogie Spatzen Bad Birnbach e.V., a long-established dance group that promotes Boogie-Woogie and Swing dancing. The first Boogie Festival emerged from the association's activities in 2024 and has quickly become a fixed date in the event calendar of the market town of Bad Birnbach.

Program: Live Bands, DJs, and Formations

Live performances and DJ sets alternate on stage. Regular performers include:

• Jimi Duke and the Posers – Boogie and Rock'n'Roll band
• Boogie Spatzen – Formation group of the organizing association
• Lollipops from Ortenburg – Show dance group
• DJ Lockerl Walter and DJ Mane (previous editions: also DJ Boogie Billy)

Market, Culinary Delights, and Bad Birnbach

Around the market square, exhibitors offer fashion, accessories, and souvenirs related to Boogie-Woogie. Food and drinks are served on-site throughout both days. Bad Birnbach in the Rottal-Inn district is part of the Bavarian Golf and Thermal Land; the spa town is known primarily for its Rottal Terme and complements the festival with a holistic wellness ambiance.
