The Bleckede Fire Brigade was founded in 1874, marking 152 years of history. The annual Open Day provides an opportunity to give the public insights into the daily life, technology, and tasks of the brigade. In 2026, the event has a very special occasion: the inauguration of a new extension building and the commissioning of a new operational boat.

Date and Location 2026

The Open Day will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM at the fire station Am Bleckwerk. Around 1,000 visitors from Bleckede and the surrounding region are expected.

Double Inauguration

Highlights of the day are the two inaugurations:

• Extension Building — modern facilities for emergency personnel, vehicles, and technology
• New Operational Boat — an important addition to water rescue capabilities on the Elbe

Both investments underscore Bleckede's importance as a town on the Elbe with demanding operational scenarios.
