Edition 2025 — Heldenlauf Blankenese
The 2025 edition of the Blankeneser Heldenlauf gathered runners of all levels by the Elbe river. Five distances with the characteristic route through the Treppenviertel, inclines on the Süllberg, and Elbe riverbank sections once again made the run one of Hamburg's most distinguished trail events.
Review 2025
In 2025, the ninth edition followed the proven format: start at Strandweg/Mühlenberg in Blankenese, five distances from 6.5 km to 21.1 km in the Sutsche and Derbe variants. The route led through the Blankeneser Treppenviertel with its historic steps, past the Süllberg, and along the Elbe promenade. The view over the Elbe — container ships, ferries, occasional cruise ships — was part of the experience.
In the Blankenese district, Altona, the run has developed since 2017 into one of Hamburg's most distinguished trail running events — a conscious response to the question of what running events can be in a port city.
