Edition 2025 — BILDSTÖRUNG Detmold

BILDSTÖRUNG 2025 once again transformed Detmold into a vibrant European theatre stage. International ensembles from dance, theatre, contemporary circus, and performance took over the squares, streets, and courtyards of the Lippe residence city. Audio walks led visitors to unexpected places, and participatory projects invited engagement. Thousands of theatre fans from across Europe attended.

The 2025 edition once again confirmed BILDSTÖRUNG as one of Europe's most important street theatre festivals. With artistic diversity, a clear commitment to public space, and an accessible, mostly free concept, the festival shaped Detmold's early summer.

The festival proved once again that international theatre can take place at the highest level not only in major metropolises but also in a medium-sized district capital like Detmold — supported by the city's dedicated cultural team and an active festival community.
