In 2025 too, the residents of Hallig Langeneß lit their Biike bonfire on February 21st between Ketelswarft and Kirchwarft. Kale supper (Grünkohlessen), Frisian singing, and accordion — a quiet, authentic Hallig festival.

The Biikebrennen on Hallig Langeneß in 2025 followed the centuries-old tradition. Hallig residents and their few February guests met in the late afternoon at the Hallig eateries for a kale supper (Grünkohlessen), and around 7:00 PM, they gathered at the Biike site between Ketelswarft and Kirchwarft.

As always, the fire was lit with torches, an accordion played Frisian folk songs, and everyone sang together. An event of quiet intensity that keeps the cultural identity of the North Frisian Halligen alive.
