Bierfest Oldenburg

The Bierfest Oldenburg is part of a nationwide tour of beer festivals that brings together classic and exceptional beers in several cities. At Oldenburg's Schlossplatz, the event opens in early June for three days, offering an open beer garden format with an impressive variety of beers.

Over 100 Types of Beer

More than 100 different beers are on offer – a range that hardly any regular restaurant covers. Featured are classic German Pilsners and lagers, wheat and yeast beers, dark Bock and Doppelbock beers, international craft beer styles like IPA, Stout, Porter, and Saison, Belgian Trappist and monastic beers, Czech lagers, and unusual brewing specialties.

Breweries and Importers

Exhibitors include classic German breweries, medium-sized manufacturers, and small craft beer brewers, complemented by importers who bring international specialties to Oldenburg. The exhibitors are available for advice and explanations – a tasting thus also becomes a learning experience about brewing processes, hop varieties, and regional traditions.

Food Stalls

Classic beer garden cuisine accompanies the offerings – from bratwurst and pretzels to hearty soups and burgers, including vegetarian alternatives. The food is deliberately chosen to complement the beer selection.

Schlossplatz as an Open-Air Beer Garden

The Schlossplatz is converted into an open beer garden with tables, benches, and standing areas. Its central downtown location allows for an uncomplicated visit – within walking distance of the main train station, integrated into a summer stroll through the city center.

Free Admission

As with the other beer festivals on the tour, admission is free. Beer and food are purchased on-site using a glass deposit and voucher system.
