The first Bezirksfest Mitte Gelsenkirchen in 2025 launched the new series of five Gelsenkirchen district festivals held in allotment garden complexes. With a club stage, nature education family program, IGA 2027 preparations, and garden atmosphere, the neighborhood festival established a new format — decentralized in the districts rather than centralized in the city center, with garden and nature themes as the connecting thread.

In 2025, the city of Gelsenkirchen introduced the new event format "District Festivals in Five Allotment Garden Complexes" — a decentralized neighborhood festival per district, each held in a local allotment garden complex. The first Bezirksfest Mitte set the standard: club stage, nature education stations, IGA 2027 connection, free admission. The concept strengthens local club identity, highlights allotment gardens as urban green spaces, and prepares the public for the International Garden Exhibition 2027.
