The 2025 edition of the Berlin Student Film Festival continued the concept that has defined the festival since 2016: international student short films, documentaries, and animations, screened in Berlin's arthouse cinemas, framed by Q&As, networking events, and awards. The festival remained true to its curatorial profile — focusing on stories that challenge norms and show the world from the perspective of the next generation.
The 2025 edition followed the established format: selected student films from around the world, screened in Berlin's arthouse cinemas. kulturspace deutschland e.V. remained the supporting organization, and the festival once again positioned itself as "inclusive, interactive, international".
In terms of content, the focus remained on stories that spark cultural discussions — and on showcasing films from academic contexts that rarely reach festival stages. As in previous years, filmmakers were invited to engage in Q&As with the audience. Awards in several categories were presented during the festival.
