Summer music festival at the Old Mittelmühle Sawmill in Bellheim
The Old Mittelmühle Sawmill is one of the most interesting preserved industrial buildings in Southern Palatinate. Located on the Spiegelbach, the Mittelmühle was central to Bellheim's economic development for centuries. Today, the area is a cultural hub and offers an extraordinary stage for the Mill and Rampart Festival. Old walls, the stream, and the inner courtyard create an intimate festival setting rarely found in the region.
The Bellheim Cultural Association focuses on a sophisticated music program: bands from Palatinate and the region perform on both festival days, with the spectrum ranging from handmade rock to folk, singer-songwriter, and pop. The stage program is compact and carefully chosen – not mass entertainment, but a concert-like atmosphere with a festival character.
Bellheim associations, represented with stands, are responsible for catering. Classics of Palatinate cuisine – Saumagen, Bratwurst, Flammkuchen, fries, grilled items – are complemented by wine from surrounding vintners and beer from the Bellheim brewery. The volunteer sponsorship ensures fair prices and a family-like atmosphere.
Bellheim, the largest municipality in the administrative district of the same name with around 9,000 inhabitants, is located between Germersheim and Landau. The Spiegelbach area with the Mittelmühle, park, and old sawmill is maintained by the Cultural Association and the municipality and is the venue for several events each year. The last weekend of July is traditionally reserved for the Mill and Rampart Festival.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Bellheim Cultural Association in early summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years: two concert evenings, a family afternoon on Sunday, continuous association catering.
Band announcements and set times will be published before the festival on pfalz.de and on the channels of the Cultural Association.
