Overview

In May 2025, the municipality of Behrensdorf invited visitors to the traditional open day of the Neuland Lighthouse. For several hours, visitors could climb the 40 m high brick tower, enjoy the view over the Hohwacht Bay, and browse at a small flea market at the foot of the tower. As usual, admission was free.

The 2025 open day was part of an established tradition in the municipality of Behrensdorf: several times a season, the Neuland Lighthouse, which is otherwise a listed building, is opened to the public. In 2025, families from the region and holidaymakers from the Hohwacht Bay once again took the opportunity to climb the 179 steps and enjoy the view of the Baltic Sea mudflats. The flea market at the foot of the tower complemented the day with regional trinkets and maritime odds and ends. The day was organized – as always – jointly by the municipality and the local tourist information office.
