Overview

The 39th Bavarian Theatre Days 2025 were hosted by the Münchner Volkstheater — the counterpart to the 40th edition in Regensburg. There too, a selection jury gathered the most striking productions from all over Bavaria, from drama to interdisciplinary theatre, and presented them over several weeks to a professional audience and the general public.

The 39th Bavarian Theatre Days 2025 were held in Munich, hosted by the Münchner Volkstheater. As in every edition, the festival brought together around two dozen productions from the genres of drama, musical theatre, dance, performance, and youth theatre, selected by an expert jury.

The 2025 Theatre Days also served as an immediate prelude to the 40th anniversary edition, which was awarded to Regensburg for May 2026 just a few months later – where the Theater Regensburg will simultaneously be elevated to a State Theatre. This brings a cycle full circle, making the Theatre Days a cornerstone format of the Bavarian theatre landscape.
