Overview
The 29th edition of the Bautzen Summer Theatre took place in 2025 in the courtyard of the Ortenburg — six weeks of open-air theatre with a production developed specifically for the summer by the German-Sorbian National Theatre.
As in previous years, the National Theatre developed its own production for the castle courtyard, performed by its permanent ensemble and guests, supplemented by puppeteers and live music. The 2025 Summer Theatre once again focused on the format's typical blend of narrative theatre, family entertainment, and regional relevance.
