Concert Series with National Appeal
What began as a regional concert initiative in 2016 has developed into one of Lower Saxony's most successful open-air series. Bassum Open Air at the Freudenburg combines the atmosphere of a small festival site with the standards of a professional concert stage. Artists appreciate the proximity to the audience, while visitors experience stars from pop, rock, and Schlager in a setting that is hard to find elsewhere.
2026 Season: Pop, Rock, and 50 Years of Foreigner
The 2026 season kicks off with the classic car meet on May 1st starting at 9 am, marking the traditional prelude before the first wave of concerts. On June 6th, Florian Künstler performs, and on June 7th, Foreigner celebrates their stage anniversary with the 50th Anniversary Tour. In the summer, dArtagnan follows on July 24th, Ronan Keating on August 21st, and Johannes Oerding on August 22nd to conclude the season. The concerts attract visitors from all over northern Germany and are regularly sold out.
The Freudenburg as a Venue
The Freudenburg is located on the edge of Bassum's town center and is part of the historic monastery ensemble. The park-like grounds offer space for several thousand visitors and create an atmosphere that oscillates between festival charm and concert evening. The stage is newly erected for each concert, and catering and drink stands provide for guests during the show.
Tickets and Information
Tickets are available through See Tickets, Nordwestticket, and Eventim. Early booking is recommended, as the concerts by international headliners, in particular, sell out quickly. The organizers provide ongoing information on arrival, admission, and the program at bassum-open-air.de.
