Overview

The Baroque Olympiad for Children's Day in 2025 brought children to Mirow Castle Island to playfully immerse themselves in the courtly world of the 18th century. Competition stations and hands-on activities in the baroque castle ambiance combined movement, history, and creativity – a targeted educational format by the State Palaces, Gardens, and Art Collections of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The 2025 edition of the Baroque Olympiad also used International Children's Day to open Mirow Castle to its youngest visitors. The castle island, with its baroque main castle, the Kavalierhaus, and the Johanniterkirche, provided the backdrop for playful stations that referenced courtly life in Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

The State Palaces, Gardens, and Art Collections of MV see the Baroque Olympiad as cultural education for families: it translates courtly etiquette and representation into playful movement – without a finger-wagging approach, with a clear enthusiasm for participation.
