Overview

"Barmbek schwingt" took place in 2025 on Saturday, September 6, from 2 PM to 10 PM on Bert-Kaempfert-Platz in front of the Museum der Arbeit. Family program in the afternoon, from 6 PM open Salsa lesson, followed by Capoeira, Ukrainian dance, and Japanese Taiko drummers. Main concert: Duncan Townsend Trio.

The 2025 festival began in the early afternoon with the mobile printing workshop, a small carousel, puppet theater, and a spinning wheel. From 6 PM, the open Salsa lesson started, followed by dance groups from the neighborhood. Capoeira, Tango, and Taiko drew a large circle of spectators around the stage.

At 7:30 PM, the Duncan Townsend Trio took center stage with powerful live music and an engaging stage presence. The program ended around 10 PM, confirming why the courtyard festival has been a staple of neighborhood events in Barmbek-Nord for years.
