Overview

The 49th Bardentreffen in 2025 took place from August 1 to 3 in Nuremberg's Old Town — three festival days with around 400 artists on 8 stages, free admission. As always, a dense program of World Music, Folk, Liedermacher, and Singer-Songwriter. Organizers estimated up to 200,000 visitors over the festival days. Preparations for the big 2026 anniversary.

The 49th edition of the Bardentreffen followed the classic format: three days of open-air concerts on 8 main stages in Nuremberg's Old Town, complemented by street musicians on Karolinenstraße. The program ranged from established World Music acts to newcomers from German-speaking countries.

In 2025, the festival management was already preparing the 2026 anniversary edition (50 years Bardentreffen / 450 years since Hans Sachs' death), with an expanded program and an additional festival day on the opening Thursday, which will only be implemented in 2026.

The atmosphere of the Bardentreffen — peaceful, cosmopolitan, with a mixed audience of families, young adults, and tourists from all over Germany and Europe — preserves its unique character in the German festival calendar.
