Overview

The 42nd Backnang Christmas Market took place on the first Advent weekend of 2025 (November 29–30) in the historic city center. Around 80 stalls along Marktstraße, the distinctive Waldbühne in Stiftshof with Advent music, and a dense offering from local associations characterized the market — a popular Advent meeting point for Backnang and the northern Rems-Murr district.

In 2025, the Backnang city center once again transformed into a festive, illuminated Advent market on the first Advent weekend. The City of Backnang and its festival office coordinated the setup of stalls from the Gänsebrunnen along Marktstraße to the Stiftshof. The Waldbühne in Stiftshof, rebuilt each year from fir branches and straw, offered a contemplative stage for school choirs, brass choirs, and local music groups.

As in previous years, associations, schools, and hobby artists from Backnang and the surrounding area provided stalls with arts and crafts, Advent decorations, and culinary specialties. Mulled wine, punch, and Swabian delicacies made the market a family-friendly start to the Advent season in the Rems-Murr district.
