Overview

In 2025, the Backhausfest of the Initiative Rodachtal also took place on a summer Sunday at the Alte Schäferei Ahorn. The baking clubs and baking house groups from the Bavarian and Thuringian member municipalities brought their specialties from the wood-fired oven, information stands presented the work of the initiative, and the Equipment Museum served as a meeting point for baking enthusiasts from the entire region for a day.

The 2025 Backhausfest was part of the event series at the Alte Schäferei in Ahorn and was one of the major summer festivals of the Initiative Rodachtal. As in previous years, the wood-fired ovens were lit early in the morning, so that fresh farmhouse bread, sheet cakes, and savory specialties from the entire Rodachtal were offered throughout the day. The baking clubs from the eleven member municipalities between Bavaria and Thuringia were represented with their own stands and presented their baking traditions.

The festival was accompanied by hands-on activities, information stands on rural development in the Rodachtal, and a supporting program. The event once again confirmed the festival's importance as a meeting point for baking culture along the Green Belt and laid the foundation for the grand anniversary year in 2026.
