Advent atmosphere in the heart of Aurich
With the first cold November days, the Advent season begins in Aurich: the Christmas Magic opens its stalls in the central market square and along the adjacent pedestrian zone. Illuminated fir trees, strings of stars, the scent of mulled wine and baked apples, and the crackling of open fires create the typical East Frisian Christmas market atmosphere.
Over 25 gastronomic establishments
The focus of enjoyment is the around 25 gastronomic establishments: mulled wine, punch, and eggnog stands, bratwurst and lard cakes, gingerbread and Christmas stollen, roasted almonds and lard nuts, crêpes, and waffles. Aurich restaurants participate with their own specialty stands. The East Frisian cuisine is represented with Mehlbüddel, Snirrtjebraten, and gebrannte Speckpfannkuchen.
Regional artisans
In addition, regional artisans present their assortment: handmade wooden decorations, glass bead jewelry, wool felt, ceramics, candles, poinsettias, and nativity figures. An ideal occasion to find Christmas gifts away from standard merchandise.
Additional week between the years
A special feature is the additional week from December 27 to 30 on the market square. While most Christmas markets close on December 23 or 24, a reduced market offering remains open in Aurich until shortly before New Year's Eve. This creates a unique meeting point for families and those returning home in the days between the years.

The Aurich Christmas Magic is one of the traditional Advent markets in East Frisia. - Nov. 23 (Opening): festive opening in the afternoon with a speech by the mayor, first mulled wine toast
- Main period Nov. 23–Dec. 23: open daily, focus weekends with special programs
- Advent Saturdays: often with small concerts, nativity scene activities, children's programs, and brass band performances
- Dec. 24–26: usually closed (Christmas break)
- Additional week Dec. 27–30: reduced market offering only on the market square, ideal for families and those returning home
