Edition 2025 — Aschaffenburger Volksfest
The Aschaffenburger Volksfest 2025 took place, as always, in the last third of June on the Volksfestplatz by the Main river. Eleven days of festivities, around 500,000 visitors, a parade, opening and closing fireworks, Festzelt Widmann with Heylands beer — the well-rehearsed concept that has made the Volksfest the largest on the Bavarian Lower Main for decades.
The previous edition followed the established Volksfest format: opening fireworks on the first Friday, parade on the first Saturday, closing fireworks on the last day of the festival. Cultural highlights such as the proven performance of a political cabaret artist were also part of the program.
The Volksfestplatz by the Main, with Johannisburg Castle as a backdrop, is one of the most photogenic Volksfest locations in Bavaria. The combination of the Renaissance castle, the banks of the Main, and the Volksfest stalls attracts not only regional families every year but also tourists from Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region. The event significantly contributes to Aschaffenburg's tourism visibility.
