Overview

The eighth edition of artspace bremerhaven took place on August 23 and 24, 2025. From over 300 applications worldwide, the organizers selected around 30 artists whose installations, performances, and paintings transformed the Die Alte Bürger quarter into a globally oriented art space. Admission was free thanks to foundation and sponsor funding.

International Application Record

In 2025, artspace bremerhaven reached a new record with over 300 applications. Artists from several continents applied – proof that the small festival in the Seestadt has established itself internationally.

Performance, Installation, Painting

The selection presented a diverse mix of performance works, site-specific installations, and paintings. Many works were created on-site, engaging with the architecture and history of Die Alte Bürger. On Saturday afternoon, the festival opened with a public welcome and initial performances.

Free Admission Thanks to Sponsorship

Thanks to the support of local and regional foundations, companies, and private donors, admission remained free for all visitors – a key objective of the "Alte Bürger" association.
