Until 2025, Düsseldorf hosted the classic Museum Night as a single evening event with the major municipal and private institutions. The Art:walk Festival 2026 expands this format to a weekend with significantly more venues and a stage day.
The predecessor event "Nacht der Museen Düsseldorf" took place regularly in the late summer since the 2000s – a classic museum night format like in many major German cities. With the re-conceptualization to the Art:walk Festival starting in 2026, the format will be extended to two days and supplemented by the stage day on Sunday.
Programme
Classic Museum Night: Opening of Düsseldorf's museums on Saturday evenings with special programs, guided tours, concerts, and shuttle buses. Admission via combined ticket.
