Overview
In 2025, Mettingen once again invited visitors to the traditional Ärappelfest in the town center. Sunday shopping, potato games by the schools, a children's flea market, and potato specialties characterized the last Sunday of September — one of the liveliest local festivals in the Tecklenburger Land.

The 2025 edition followed the usual proven format: Sunday shopping with Mettingen's shops, culinary potato specialties at several stalls, potato games for schools, a children's flea market, and live music in the town center.
As every year, the festival paid homage to Mettingen's tradition as an agriculturally influenced Münsterland community — the mayor's arrival on a decorated tractor has become a firm fixture of the program.
